DIY Picture Frames!

I want to share with you this easy and cute way to spruce up your picture frames.

All you need is:

  • Any frame (I got wooden ones from AC Moore)
  • Graphic/decorative paper
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Box Cutter/Scissors
  • Double sided mounting squares (AC Moore or any craft store)
  • Acrylic paint (If you want to paint the edges of your frame)

I got a packet of decorative paper from Walmart for five dollars and five wooden frames from AC Moore.  I wanted the edges of my frame to be white so the first thing I did was just paint the edges.

Next, you want to lay your frame face down on the back of your decorative paper and trace it with a pencil.  Then, you just cut the edges that you traced with your scissors and for the inside part of the frame, I placed the paper on a wooden surface that I didn’t mind getting scratched and used my ruler and box cutter to carefully cut along my pencil tracing.

After that, you just place your mounting squares on the back of the paper and place it on your frame!

I was able to decorate five frames in about 30 minutes.  It’s such an easy DIY project and can really make any frame look nice!!

LATEST OBSESSION!! Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Polish

I was recently browsing the beauty isles at Walmart looking for some new summer nail polish colors and the Revlon section caught my eye. I had never heard about the gel envy polishes, so this was the first time I was seeing them! I picked up two colors: Up the Ante & Wild Card and I also got the top coat.

This polish claims to be a long wear polish that has a gel like shine (Once you add the top coat).

I love that it comes in so many different colors and if you go to Ulta during one of their sales (buy one get one 50 % off), you can get two polishes for around 12 dollars. These polishes retail for $7.99. I am absolutely in love with the wild card polish. It is a bright cobalt blue and I have been searching for the perfect blue nail polish that wasn’t too dark, with just the right amount of pop to it. Up the Ante isn’t my favorite color, for I was expecting it to be a lot brighter once I applied it, but it is still a very beautiful purple color. As far as staying power goes, I really believe that these polishes are long wearing. I applied two coats of up the ante (you could totally get away with just one coat) and one coat of the top coat.

These polishes dry so incredibly fast and my polish lasted for about a week before I got any sorts of chips. A week in, I applied another coat of the top coat to get extra shine and see how much longer it would last. You can go up to ten days without this polish chipping. I can’t wait to go out and buy more of the colors and build my collection. This is an inexpensive way of getting the gel polish look, without spending all that extra money at a salon!! I hope this review was helpful and you go out and buy some of these wonderful nail polishes! Xoxo

Summer Skin Essentials!

Having glowing, healthy skin in the summertime is everything to me. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite products that I use to keep my skin healthy, clean and glowing all throughout the hot summer months!

1.) Juice Organics Brightening Cleanser
I love this product to wash my face at the end of the day after I take all of my makeup off. It is all natural and organic and has a wonderful orange scent to it. It lathers up very nicely on the skin with just a little bit of water and leaves your skin feeling so refreshed, bright and clean. Especially after a hot summer day when your skin feels very sticky, hot and dirty, this cleanser will totally change your skin!

2.) St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray
I tried this product when it first came out because I was interested in the spray bottle. It turns out that this product has become something I can’t live without!! The spray cap makes it so easy to apply and the formula is so light but still very moisturizing. I love spraying this on my legs after I get out of the shower, get back from the beach, or just quickly before I am going out anywhere and I feel like I need some extra moisture in my skin. I really love this product because it doesn’t leave you looking or feeling greasy or oily.

3.) Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen SPF 30
Protection from the sun is key to having healthy looking skin in the summer.  I have been on the hunt for a sunscreen for my face that won’t break me out or make my skin look oily when I apply it. I recently discovered this face sunscreen by Neutrogena. This stuff sinks into your skin immediately and doesn’t leave any sheen on your face. It feels like you are applying a high end moisturizer. This product has been my holy grail sunscreen for the summertime!

4.) Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Lotion

I love the scent of this lotion!! It makes your skin feel so cool and hydrated after a long day in the sun and water. I love applying this after I get out of the shower after the beach or the pool. It puts moisture back into the skin and feels very soothing if you put it on a sunburn.

These are my top four favorite products to use on my skin during the summertime. If you have any other requests let me know, and let me know what YOUR summer skin essentials are! I’d love to know 🙂

Fun Fourth Of July Treats!

Although this is not beauty related, I still wanted to share this fun little craft! Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. Today, I tried making some fun treats to get festive for the fourth! All you need is strawberries, white chocolate candy melts, and sprinkles! First, what you need to do is wash and dry your strawberries.

 photo 1

Next, take your candy melts and pour some into a microwavable bowl (I just wing it and pour a handful in) and warm them for about a minute. Mix the chocolate up so it will all melt together until it is smooth.

Then, I took a fork and stuck it into the top of the strawberry and dipped and swirled the strawberry until it was covered in the white chocolate. I moved from the chocolate into my cup of sprinkles and swirled the strawberry around until it had as many sprinkles as I wanted.

Once I was finished with the strawberries I placed them onto a plate to let them dry. It’s as easy as that, and you have a festive, delicious treat that everyone will love!!

I hope you enjoy and Happy 4th Of July! 🙂 xoxo

Lorac Pro Palette 2 Review and Tutorial!

I am in love with this palette!! All of the shadows are so creamy and have amazing pigment.  This palette has a lot more day time shadows compared to the original palette which has more shadows for a smokey eye look.  They all blend so easily, and apply amazingly to the lid.

Using Nectar, Lt. Brown, Rose, and Mocha

I started off this look by priming my eye lids with the mini primer that comes with the palette (which I also love).  I used the shade nectar as a transition shade and blended it into my crease and a little above with a Sigma E40 tapered blending brush.  Next I used the shade lt. brown and added it to the outer corner of my eye using that same Sigma brush.  Then, I used an elf flat shader brush and packed on the color Rose all over my lid.  I went back to my Sigma blending brush and took a small amount of the color mocha and added it to the outer corner of my lid.  I went back in with nectar and a little bit of lt. brown to add a little more dimension to the crease.  Finally, I used the color buff and swept it underneath my brow and along the edge of the shadows to make sure there were no harsh lines.  I completed the look by using Kat Von D tattoo liner and Calvin Klein mascara!

I will be doing more looks with this palette in the future and if you have any specific colors you would like me to use just let me know! What are your top three favorite colors from this palette?

Beauty Haul! (Ulta & Target)

I can never walk through target without taking a stroll down all of the makeup and beauty aisles! Anyone else feel this way?!  I ended up picking up a few things that I wanted to share with y’all!  I picked up some new Maybelline color elixirs from Target because I am just so obsessed with these.  I got glistening amber, breathtaking apricot, fuchsia flourish, blush essence, and caramel infused.  These are so pigmented and creamy, perfect for summer!  These are all priced at $6.29 at Target.

I also picked up Elf’s small stippling brush for $3.05.  I love this brush for blending under the eye concealer and it is such a low price, I just couldn’t resist!

I headed over to Ulta and picked up some face masks.  My skin has been feeling like it needs a refresh of some sort so I figured I would pick out some masks and give them a try.  I got the masks by Freeman because I have heard great things about them and they are such a great price ($3.99)! I got the mint and lemon facial clay mask and the facial polishing mask.  Ulta also is having a buy one get one free for these masks right now which is a great deal!  If y’all want a more in depth review and comparison of these masks just let me know.
